Meet Jacquelyn Ottman
JACQUELYN OTTMAN IS THE NATION'S FOREMOST EXPERT ON GREEN MARKETING & ECO-INNOVATION.
At age four, her siblings called her “Junkie Jacquie” when she dragged home treasures from the neighbor’s trash. Today, Jacquelyn Ottman helps clients find value in exciting new strategies for environmentally sustainable businesses, products and communications.
Jacquelyn Ottman is a pioneer in green marketing. She wrote three books on the subject long before most of today's green marketers had ever heard of the term. Today she is a sought after speaker at conferences in North America, South America, Europe and Asia and at corporate forums run by IBM, 3M, Philips Electronics and GE, among many others.
Her book, Green Marketing: Opportunity for Innovation 2nd Edition, is called the "definitive work on the subject" by the American Marketing Association. It was named one of the top business books of the year and has been translated into six languages.
Ottman is the principal organizer and driving spirit behind IDSA-endorsed Design:Green eco-design educational initiative that she created under an EPA Innovation Grant in 2004.
She sits on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Sustainable Design (UK), the Center for Small Business and the Environment, and the NYC chapter of O2, of which she is a past co-chairman. For seven years, she chaired the jury of the American Marketing Association's Special Edison Awards for Environmental Achievement. She is currently co-chair of SustainableBrands ’08, the leading conference on the topic, and keynoter.
A graduate of Smith College, she attended NYU Graduate School of Business Administration. She also holds an advanced certification from the Creative Education Foundation in facilitating the Osborn-Parnes Creative Problem Solving Process.
